Late work will be accepted at 60% of on-time value. Please mark the assignment "late" and place it in the correct period box.
All classes have an assignment box. On the top of the assignment write "absent" and place it in the box that corresponds to your period. Assignments are due on the day you return. To avoid late assignments please check the website or with classmates for assigned work.
First off, the absence must be excused. Truancies (aka cutting class) and unexcused absences do not warrant a make-up exam. For excused absences it is best to retake the exam ASAP. If you have a study hall period or tutorial support period we can make arrangements during that time. We can also make it up after school. The student is responsible for inquiring about make-ups due to absences . Exams and quizzes MUST be made up no later then 2 days before the next assessment.
All of Freedom High's math teachers follow the same guidelines. 80% of the grade comes from assessments (quizzes and tests) and 20% is derived from homework, classwork, and participation.
Yes, please refer to the syllabus. The Freedom High School Math Department allows for retakes on assessments. Yes, there are extra-credit opportunities. Once per quarter Mr. Hollister will assign an extra credit opportunity. The extra-credit can increase your overall grade up to 3%. Since it is extra credit, there are no make-ups or "passes" for extenuating circumstances.
